register a litter

Registering a litter means officially notifying a kennel club that your female dog has had puppies, providing details like the sire, birth date, and number of pups. It's a straightforward process that ensures each puppy can later be individually registered, which is key for pedigree tracking. I did it last spring with my Labrador's litter, and the forms asked for her breeding history and the stud's info. It felt like a small but important step to keep everything legit for the new owners.
